Gratitude is Healing

Fond du Lac Area Foundation sponsors Yoga for Elders program

By Janene Lang

The Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing would like to express its gratitude to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation for the generous grant received this month. The Foundation granted $2080 from the Jim and Marie Kuber Fund in support of the “Joyful, Gentle Yoga for Elders” program. The Jim and Marie Kuber Fund was established 1998 by Jim and Marie Kuber to enhance the lives of the lonely elderly in the Fond du Lac area.

‘Joyful, Gentle Yoga for Elders’ is a new project designed by the Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing who want to extend yoga courses to the elders of the community. Yoga is an ancient and time-honored exercise routine that has been known for ages as an exceptional font for overall well-being. It has long been the effort and intention of the Center to reach out and honor and appreciate the community’s elders who hold a cherished space in our community--both for the tremendous contributions they have already made and also the wisdom they continually have to offer.

The purpose of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is to build a permanent and lasting endowment to support the charitable needs of the community. The mission of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is to create a better community by promoting philanthropy, awarding effective grants, and providing leadership on important community issues, both today and forever.

The Center thanks the foundation for their generous support, not only of our organization, but for their support of the many charitable organizations that serve this community by offering help and healing to individuals in need.
