Yoga for Pathways for a Better Life
Yoga for 12 Step Recovery(Y12SR) was developed by Nikki Meyers. The intention of Y12SR is to hold space. This is an interesting concept, but carries the power of intention needed to create a space that is sacred and safe for those of us in recovery from addiction and other aspects of trauma management. Yoga is a wonderful option for participants to integrate into their practice of recovery.
Pathways for a Better Life, LLC, offers inpatient and outpatient services to people in addiction recovery. The facility in Kiel is an outpatient center that invited us from Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing to bring the benefits of yoga as part of the recovery protocol.
The missions of the related entities are not coincidental, as we each seek to offer a safe, sacred space to become quiet within and without, to experience the safety of being present to the God of our understanding, and to engage in non-judgmental life experiences bringing us in to the space of transformation to the freedom of a sober life.
